2002 Bluebonnet

In 2001 there was a National Casita Rally that began at Winding River RV Park near Grand Lake, Colorado. The rally moved from Winding River through Rocky Mountain National Park via Trail Ridge Road to the east side of the park and campers then dispersed to either Moraine Park Campground inside the park, or to Elk Meadow RV resort. After returning from Colorado, Bob Hunt and his wife discussed about how many Casita's there was just in Texas, and they didn't know any of them. They thought it would be a good idea to have a centrally located place to get everyone together. That was Georgetown and April was a good month because that is when the Bluebonnets bloom. Thus, the Texas Bluebonnet Casita Fest was conceived and held at a COE park at Lake Georgetown, Georgetown, TX. There were approximately 26 Casita's and 1 Scamp. The one Scamp just so happened to be the park host.
