Bluebonnet Casita Rally

The Bluebonnet Casita Rally of 2024 in Bandera, Texas, was a resounding success, drawing 106 enthusiasts from Texas, the home state of Casita. We were thrilled to host an additional 27 participants from across the nation, including Alabama, California, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Florida, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Utah, and Virginia, bringing the total to 15 represented states.

This year’s activities were a hit, featuring our unique take on Rock, Paper, Scissors. Attendees engaged in rock painting and card-making with card stock, creating stunning artwork. The event also included a swap meet, a cooking demonstration by Sandee Winkler of Sandee’s Simply Homemade Meals, wine and beer tastings, an Egg Parade, a 50/50 raffle, and door prizes generously donated by our amazing attendees.

The culinary delights were a highlight, with mouthwatering BBQ, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, and an exceptional potluck. The desserts were particularly noteworthy. We paid tribute to our veterans and their families and enjoyed spirited team games. The rally was bolstered by energetic cheerleaders and enthusiastic spectators. Evening entertainment included dominoes, card games, and board games, played well into the night. A heartfelt thank you goes to the Schloss family, our dedicated Rise and Shine team, who woke up extra early each morning to prepare coffee for everyone, complemented by delicious donuts and pastries.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that Danny and Linda Bingham will be the hosts for next year’s rally. They promise to infuse the event with fun, music, and a fresh perspective. We extend our best wishes to them and encourage everyone to mark their calendars for April 23-27, 2025.

As for us, Tom and I are embarking on grand adventures in our ‘new-to-us’ Class A, affectionately dubbed our Casita. We bid a fond farewell as we conclude this remarkable chapter. We look forward to crossing paths with you all in the future. Until then, we wish you safe travels and Godspeed.
